Funding Canine Research & Medical Studies

The American German Shepherd Dog Charitable Foundation funds reaarch and medical studies that look for the cause of and prevention of the breed's most dehavilitating issues.

Some of the projects funded specifically focus on the causes (and prevention) of the following diseases:

cardiac defects
esophageal defects
pancreatic insufficiency
toxic gut syndrome
bloat (gastric torsion)
spinal cord/degenerative myelopathy
hypothyroidism

Genetic Research

We believe gene research will be key to these efforts in the years ahead and we are working closely with the AKC Canine Health Foundation on research projects.

How You Can Help

Your help is urgently needed now. Enter in the fight by contributing generously and follow your initial gift by annual donations. Talk with the AGSDCF about including a gift in your will. The Foundation recognizes that charitable gifts can be structured in many different ways and can help you with that process.
